I'm going to have a mobile garage with me in the back of our support-Burb. We're even considering having a MIG welder along for the ride.

I'll definitely have six jack stands... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif)

Geeze ....I wish my car would be ready, but no way it will be !!!! If anyone wants to meet up around the Amarillo area, or need anything from that area, lemme know. I don't have much, but I will do what I can. Maybe if the schedule works out ok, and depending on when some of y'all are coming through Amarillo (I-40) maybe I could tag along for a while just to get me motivated again !!!!!

No faith in 914 you have.

I should have open driveway space, and a fully stocked Sears tool center in the garage (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

I also might have flat space and MIG available from a body shop friend, depends on his work load.

Did I ever tell you how I put together a completely stripped chassis in 28 days, then 2 days later did a flawless fun run in Socal... I miss not working... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif)

Faith in my 914 I do have. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif)

Here in Northern Arizona 87 Octane regular is going for $1.88 at the local Express Fuels & Safeway. Brand names like Exxon or 76 are at least 20 cents higher and Premium is 20 cents higher than regular.

Rich ? Any word from the boss on what your plans are going to be? When will you land in Vegas? When do you want to leave for California (Thurs or Fri)? Which hotel do you plan to stay at?

The schedule:

Tuesday the 19th: Travelers will be hosted as my house and treated to beer and grilled food.

Wednesday the 20th: Depart ABQ for Vegas. Lunch in Flagstaff around 1pm and hopefully join up with the AZ crowd. Finish the day in Vegas for a night of fun. Join the NE crowd in Vegas.

Thursday the 21st: Depart Vegas for Camarillo.

If all goes well, we arrive in Camarillo 24 hours early for some relaxation and maybe a Friday drive. If all doesn't go well, we have that 24 hours to deal with break downs.

I've been unusually quite about my travel plans. I've been trying work around several problems that arose in the past several months. My job is consuming my life, I have a new manager, we had several unexpected bills arrive, etc. The final issue ended my travel plans.
Everyone is healthy and there are no personal issues to worry about, just stuff happening with the kids and their friends. My oldest son's girl friend just turned 18. she is still in high school, graduating this year and signed up for collage with my son. She's a good kid with no issues. She is a ward of the state. The home she was living in for the last 3-4- years gave her the boot on her birthday.
She had no place to go. Sandy and I had many moral discussions about her moving in with us. We didn't want the kids to be forced into more of a relationship than they are ready for.
After watching this sick and demented thing unfold over the last 3 weeks I finally had to step in. Here's a kid that should be concentrating on finishing school and getting ready for a graduation and she out trying to sign up for welfare, and get on a low income list for a slum apartment! WTF is wrong with a family that will do that to a child! I'm sick and heart broken for her. We are now moving her into our home.
We spent last evening shopping for bedroom furniture, buying pink paint, and moving my sons computer stuff out of the spare room. As much as I love and trust my kids they are still kids. So were going to have a period of adjustment and I just can't walk away from that now. I want them to understand they need to have personal time and just because they are in the same house they are not stuck together. I hope they are able to put this behind them and move tword their lifes goals.

This club is made up of real people as is our family. Growing up I never had a real family. So I know you will all understand When I put the family I have now first. When things settle in here Sandy and I will hop in the Alien and fly out to see you all!

Thanks for letting me vent.

You sir, have my utmost respect as a father and as a human being. My prayers will include you and your family. You have done the right thing. We've had the privilege of having our son-in-law and daughter-in-law live with us in our home in a similar fashion. They didn't live with our kids, they just all lived at the same house. Even so, there are pressures and strains involved in sorting out the relationships that can make it more challenging than when the living arrangement is separate.

You and your family will continue in my prayers as you work through this. I believe you will never regret making this kind of investment in that young lady's life. The fact that you won't be able to make the caravan and WCC is disappointing, but there will be other opportunities.

The invitation for lunch, breakfast, whatever in Flagstaff is always open whenever you "fly out here" in the Alien.

I can relate Rick. It's good to know there are people like you that still "do the right thing" despite the hardship placed on them. Have one on me man. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif)

Rich - we all support you 100% in whatever decision you make. We don't know all the details, but I am confident you are making the right choice. Helping family and friends are what make this Club so great.

You will be missed greatly. The WCC will not be the same without you.
Rest assured you will be here in spirt if not in person.

Yes, we are still leaving Vegas on Thursday. I'm looking forward to arriving 24h early and being able to relax.

I just got off the phone with Scott. He may be at my house early to (gulp) paint his car in 24 hours! We'll see.

John, would you happen to have some garage space for RS while we're in Vegas?
