Okay I guess we might as well get the Pacific Northwest and all areas North of Calif. on standby for the exodus to WCC 2005 in Camarillo Calif. For those who are going and would like to caravan down now is the time to start getting a plan together.
Jim Chambers and I drove down last year and it made thing a little more relaxing, knowing that if you had some trouble you weren't alone (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) . And then driving back we added Kevin RHODYGUY Powers to the mix. So this year if you are driving down and want to caravan with others who have the same disease, love of 914s, then speak up. Lets get together for the WCC 2005.
Mapquest shows that from Lake Oswego, Oregon it is a 14 hour drive down I5 to Camarillo. This is pretty straight forward untilk you get down near Ventura the 405,205, and 999, after you take the 584 onramp, merge with the 203 and then turn at the 987, heading North you will ....anyway you get the idea.
So speak up. All of thsoe who are coming from the NORTHWEST.

Santa Barbara? Probably not, SB is a bit tight on big lots and stuff.....you could try the Earl Warren Showgrounds at Las Positas...but it's State property and has off and on security....

The town just 15 minutes North of Santa Barbara is called Goleta. Take the Glenn Annie exit turn right, go thru the light....turn right into the Costco/Home Depot parking lot......BIG LOT....also has Mickey Ds, Chilis and a few other eateries....Good Chinese joint across the street.....

Gas at that corner is the MOST expensive in town. Best to fuel up when passing thru Buellton/Solvang at the 246/101 hwy junction 1/2 hour north.

I just booked a room at the La Quinta Inn for us.
Good to see that we're all in the same place now. Thanks Jim! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

Just to double check, the address is 2710 W March Lane, Stockton, correct?

2710 W. March Lane it is. Looks like we're organized. Now we just gotta get Rich to Portland on Wed. night.
I've done 600-700 in a 914 many times but 830 sounds grim.

QUOTE
A friend of mine who lives in Gilroy said In-N-Out Burger's lot is not very large. We may want to move it to McDonalds which shares the large Outlet Mall parking. People towing need lots of space to manuver...

The outlet mall area is a big parking area if I recall, and the IN-N-OUT is right on the main street that the PNW guys will arrive on. With 30 cars...we should all be within eyesight regardless of which lot we are in technically in. If you think there is still a problem, can you suggest a better place/address to meet up?

This is going to be so cool... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif)

I5 to 101 link location has changed to McDonalds & "D" Mart because it has more room and it’s still close to 101 with plenty of room to park! When we leave we can all enter 101 with two right turns.

We were concerned about the size of the In-N-Out lot and room for the tow vehicles so Tom Trudell scoped several locations, just an example of the details we are sweating for this adventure…you may remember he took the Laguna Seca group picture at last year’s WCC. Plan to assemble for a quick photo before the 914 mobile Mecca...

Directions: From 152 East aka "Pacheco Pass Highway" continue over 101 and turn left at the first light. Map

Below is a photo of the "D" Mart lot with McDonalds in the distance:

Felix/all:

Don't know about the other guys, but your link to the map did not work for me. Below is the map just in case.

For pics, lets just plan on parking opposite each other in the area of the DMart lot closest to McD's and work our way toward's the front of DMart; i.e. the location of the above shot. We shoudl try to avoid parking too close to their front door as I would not want to piss them off to much for taking up their spaces, even though its only for an hour or so. Will plan on taking a group pic too.

ARRRGHH!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) Just found out Im flying to Monterey on the 18th for a meeting on the 19th!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)
Now I have to decide on wether to bail on the inevitable scramble upon my return and caravan down with the crew or just stay down there and rent something. I am collecting cell phone numbers of travelers planning to caravan to WCC from the north. I will distribute a hard copy to all when we gather in Portland, and for the folks we join in Gilroy. Send your number to jimchambers41@hotmail.com The code word is "HELP".

last call for puget sounders to committ. i see we go down 205 and a short drive back north on I-5 to exit #289. piece-o-cake. interesting mix of reviews on the Sweetbrier. one guest gave it one star, the rest are 4 and 5. now you p-landers need to help. since we're driving past camp to get to I-5, should we just stop by or go check in and back track to camp?
