$525 is STEEP for the kit - but it definitely would be cool to have. I bet someone could reproduce this kit for less...

I have to have this kit! Where to find???

Why? Unless your doing a full on GT replica I fail to see the point. We're talking what 14 pounds or so for the motors? Run 3 gallons less of fuel in your tank/cell. Is it a coolnes factor thing? I just don't get it. If I wanted cable operated headlights I would not have sold my Opel GT.

Its not a coolness thing for me, I have no motors. I have to use a 12mm wrench to open my lids. Its a PIA, a cable wood be an upgrade.

$525 is pretty steep though, I am however trying hard to keep weight off the car.

If this was to be done (I have been thinking about it) I would want a cable that you could pull on to lower the lights and have them "click" lock down and use the same cable to mabe push to release them? Not sure. It is a cool idea, but I wouldn't want to go outside to lower my headlights on a driver. Track car, sure, driver no way. It sends a message to other people that something on your car doesn't work.

I still think it's dumb....BTW, the 20s were put on to screw with the ricers....seems to work.....a Honduh pulled along side me on the freeway and gave me the "look"....kicked the OD off and stomped it, the Vortech immediately started howling and pumped in boost.....backed off at 125mph.....he was a tiny blur in my sideview mirror.....

Cracked myself up....

I email him a couple of days ago, asking if he had any kits left. He just sold the last on, I also asked him what the cost was. He has not gotten back to me yet.

Going to try to swing by that guys (Richs) house Sunday and see if I can weld up those seat brackets for him.

Oh yeah, Michelle's 914 does have tons-o-rust and been smacked too hard in the rear. Don't know if I told you yet, but it's a parts car. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) she is bummed, but we will find another. Now I just need to (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sawzall-smiley.gif) and sell off a bunch of it so I can have the garage space back.
