QUOTE(Pat Garvey @ Apr 28 2014, 05:26 PM) *

I'm not posting this for sympathy. I'm not posting this to be a drama queen. I mearly want interested people to know why I've not posted much of late.

Six weeks ago I had a stroke. Last week I had a mild heart attack. Seven weeks ago I took a Centrum each day. Now I take 8 additional meds. Should have never retired!

Don't know that I'll ever be right again, nor get on with my 914. May sell it.

When/if I improve I'll return. For the foreseeable future I'll mostle be silent.

Took 20 miutes to put this short txt together. Pardon the errors.
Later, I hope.
Pat

Hi Pat,
My Dad had his first heart attack and stroke almost a year apart. That was more than 20 years ago. He is 90 now and lives in his own house with his girl friend who is about my age. I go to visit him next week. He drives a stick shift Fiesta. Last year he agreed to only drive to two specific places. He figured on dying at 40 or so. Compromise: sell all the junk pieces you will never need. I have had the thought from time to time of actually *shudder* hiring someone to work on my cars.
Best wishes,
Warren

Pat,
Hope your recovery if full and timely. As others have said, keep your chin up and stay on the meds. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Pat,
I knew something was up. So sorry to hear about the second episode. You will get better and we will meet-up, drive the teeners and drink some wine. You know I am located very close to you so if there is anything I can help with teener or otherwise related, please contact me.

As soon as my teener is on the road I will drive a bottle of my homemade cab your way.....that will cheer you up!

Say it ain't so Pat. A tough old bird like you can't go quietly. We need our drama around here...dontcha know.

Like others have said; do what the docs say, keep moving, take your meds and don't let the tough days keep you down. We're family here and we luv ya man. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grouphug.gif)

Pat,
Best of luck to you on your recovery. I would not sell anything, you are just going through a rough patch...the car will give you much joy when you recover.

Pat,

Like many others, I've never met you in person but, through this forum, I feel like we have been lifelong "car buddies". Our kinship regarding original ownership has only strengthened that bond.

Like most difficult tasks in life, overcoming them requires 50% physical ability and 50% mental fortitude. How else can you explain the insane amount of time spent detailing your 914 to the level it is? Your impending recovery will require much of the same 50/50 technique. There is no doubt in my mind that your outcome will be on par with your concours prowess.

I think I can speak on behalf of all the World members to wish you well and look forward to your speedy recovery.

Dave
