I am looking ordering the RS door panels for my rebuild. I contacted him to see if he could use a period correct basketweave instead of a plain vinyl.

why?

the GT door pull looked nothing like that

per AA
Interior Door Handle Pull Straps 90153106700 - factory original door pull straps. These were installed on all of the factory 914-6 GT and 911 rsr models in place of the heavier door box armrest assemblies.

Looks like the door pulls kits sold by AP. Bought a set several years ago. They still sell them

A few years back I went to rei coop and purchased some red nylon strap, just like you see in the Rennlist pics.i cut it to size so I had a loop. Then I secured it through the door panel through the hole left after removing the drivers door pocket. I used one of the passenger side door pull bezels to finish its off. It was a pull only, it did not unlatch the door. Looked great and it was not that spendy.

I don't think this kit will work but I like the look. If you read the installation instructions, it needs the guts of a 911 door latch to work.
