Pulled out all the old hoses this weekend, and I don't think there was a single one that wouldn't have leaked like crazy. It's a wonder the thing ran at all.
Maybe I'm suffering from a bout of surf fu flu, but I'm having a lot of trouble nailing down the proper sizes of each of the vacuum lines. I see some drawings referring to 4mm, 5mm, 8mm, and 13mm, while it looks to me like the PET calls out 3.5mm, 4mm and 12mm ID hose. Anyone who's replaced these recently remember what sizes you bought and how much of each? Unfortunately, my car doesn't look original enough to be able to just measure what was there before. There was definitively some creative routing involved, including some home-made splices between two different sizes. Also, there are 3 or 4 90 degree elbows that are quickly returning to their natural gooey dinosaur state that I can't seem to find at any of my usual parts suppliers. Source? Gary |
