This is looking to be a large group, I counted 31 plus GF/BF/Spouse/Chillins?etc. Wondering how many teeners will be in Moab, who besides me IS NOT driving a 914?
BTW - I'm canceling my extra room in Moab later today so if anyone wants it please PM me before it's gone. $200/night at the La Quinta. Can't wait

Ha, don't be too jealous, working on carbs isn't exactly my dream vacation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Cleaning the idle jets didn't do much, readjusting the linkage helped a lot but still not quite there. Tried cleaning the air bypass circuit and adjusting to sync the carbs but not getting all of them to react to adjustments. Drives like it's lacking power and missing a bit. Never liked carbs....now I remember why.

Hope to make some progress tomorrow, three more days to figure it out or my vacation will turn into chores around the house. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

For those attending the RRC. I installed 1.7 stainless steel heat exchangers on Sandy's 2.0. Why? Because it's what I had. I went to install the rear valance panel and discovered the one I have either must be for a 2.0 or the muffler I used is an odd ball or I need a 1.7 part. The tail pipe exits slightly to the right of the valance cut out. Are the 1.7 and 2.0 cut outs different?

If they are I think I need a 1.7 Valance. Anyone coming to the event have one they can sell me? The car looks incomplete without it.

I also need a couple license plate lights if anyone has a couple they want to bring.

Hehe....fixed it for you Rick. If I had a valance, it would be yours for the taking.

Rick, I'm pretty sure all the valances are the same (for the -4's). You need a 1.7 muffler/hanger now to get the tailpipe in the right spot.

Rick - does the valance have a notch or a hole? If a hole (referred to as "snowplows") there were two different ones. There was the one for a /6 and a different one for an early /4. The holes were slightly off from one another.

The latter.....the car can wait. Drinks sound so much more appealing. I have plans to get it to RRC 2031.

Well technically, it IS making it to part of this years RRC. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Actually need to find JP's sticker that I promised him about a year ago... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

I think you have an oddball muffler. Valance's were the same barring the deep six valance I believe. I've got a spare valance I can bring if you want to cut yours to make it work. With a man of your metal skill. I'm sure you can just fab one in a few minutes right (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif) . Seriously if you want to cut it I'll bring you another (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . I'm sure I have some spare lights too. I'll look into it tonight

Circumstances have conspired to destroy my trip. I have a customer car that needs to be done before I go, and I can't finish it before I go. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Can we have another RRC next month? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
