Wondering if anyone answered the transposition question? I have two numbers in position 7,8 that are transposed on the door sticker. Given my 2.0 is all original, I've always assumed it was a byproduct of the 70's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smoke.gif)

Hi Brad,

Here is a curious question. Your ad states the VIN as: 4742913488. The door jamb sticker clearly states the VIN to be: 4742931488 (01-74). A build date of 1/74 is closer to the listed VIN of 4742913488, not the door jamb sticker showing 4742931488. Did Porsche transpose a few numbers in the door jamb sticker?

I just looked on P914.com and the last 74 VIN was 4742921370. That makes this car a real anomaly.

Just for the record - I bought this car today and am comfortable attributing the door jam VIN to a factory mistake - but I'm open to other explanations. The other VINs all match each other....

Congrats! Looks to me like this car is worth that and more. Surprised it did not bring a higher price.

You guys realize the original ad from 914ltd was from 2014, right?
Doubt this most recent buyer got it for that cheap.

I can say it wasn't 14.9 this time around but it is a VERY solid car and I'm very happy with it. A few small things to get in line but it's a great 914!

Sold

Porsche 914 2.0 S/N 4742913488 Olympic blue, 65,000 mile, excellent, rust free condition. Very good quality repaint of the original color. New bumper tops, excellent interior, no major accident damage. The fuel injected engine received a “stock performance” rebuild with new, original Mahle European pistons and cylinders, Raby FI cam and lifters new German K&S bearings on a std/std crankshaft. Heads completely rebuilt, new stainless valves and new springs by Tuttle’s Parts Exchange. Carefully assembled in my shop, this engine runs strong, no drips. Like new SSI stainless heat exchangers and Bursch muffler. Weltmeister 19mm adjustable front sway bar, new wheel bearings, turbo tie rods and ball joints. Transaxle, clutch and shift linkage all work smoothly and properly. Brakes excellent. Dunlop Direzza Sport 195/55 tires on genuine Fuchs rims. Sony CD with memory stick slot and Blaupunkt speakers. All major work, including engine, done within the last 5000 miles. This is an excellent looking, running and driving 914, needs nothing to enjoy. $15,900. I certainly didn't think we would need to lower the price on this exceptional car but, now $14,900.

BEAUTIFUL car Brad! GREAT PRICE!

Yea, but us midrusterners are stealing 914's from California almost daily!
And the only way you can stop it is put up a fence on your eastern border. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well - I live in LA but have family in Indiana and that's where this 914 will live - it may even find it's way back through your shop, Brad since we make the run to eastern Iowa as well - which runs right through Peoria.

I'll say, I'm VERY happy with this car and the care and excellent work that Brad did on it years ago still shows.
