Okay, here are some of mine. You know me and pictures ... prepare to be inundated ...
I want to thank Jeff Bowlsby for organizing the caravan down to the event. I believe we had six or seven 914's in our caravan. We had a safe, albeit wet, run over Highway 17, and then down Highway 1 to Monterey. The Werks Reunion was centered around the lunch tent / beergarten. Cars radiated out from the tent, like the ripples in water. Four cars were given special treatment, based on each one's age and historical significance. This one-of-a-kind steel bodied American Roadster from 1952 was, I believe, the oldest car there. Only 253 Rometsch Beeskow's were produced from 1950-1957 (I looked it up). The Seinfeld Collection brought two cars to the event. First is the last 356 ever made, in June of 1966, for the Dutch police force. And here is the first 911 ever made, shown originally at the 1964 New York World's Fair. |
