Ok.. I have a question for those of you who have a six.
The filler neck on my six oil tank has never fit just right. It always seems a bit loose and floppy (no jokes here guys, I am serious). I was trying to replace the rubber connector between it and the tank, and it doesn't seem right either. And the last thing that has me questioning this is it always seems like I have too much oil in the tank when I fill it to the mark on the dipstick. The dipstick, tank and filler neck are all factory Porsche parts. The rubber boot does not reach the bulge in the filler neck, and the assembly has always looked wrong. My question... Is the filler neck supposed to slide into the tank opening, or does it just butt up against the tank? All the evidence I have with the oil level and the filler flopping around make me think it should slide into the opening on the tank. But it doesn't quite fit inside. |
