I assume the oil light comes on when the oil level gets low, thus the light comes on for a few seconds after cornering hard, then goes off. Just want some affirmation from the group if this is correct.

Your pump is sucking air. The centrifugal force in a hard corner will move the oil to one side of the engine away from the pickup tube.
Cure .... slow down in corners or add a deep sump or try running the engine about 1/2 quart over full on the stick or dry sump the engine or install an accumulator |
