Very impressive in the brake zone. Still accelerating past the first set of brake cones in turn 7. Impressed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) I get that same unloading of the rear in turn 15 also sometimes. I think, my case, its from over turning. Have you talked to anyone about this. I would like to learn more about how NOT to do this (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) its kind of unnerving when it does happen. By the way the lighting looks great! Miguel |

WOW, way faster then me. Very impressive in the brake zone. Still accelerating past the first set of brake cones in turn 7. Impressed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) I think I just have more experience with this car Shane. Much lower power and no slicks, which is I'm sure WAY different than driving your car. Remember you set a 3:20 really early on in your first stint. With less traffic and more time in the car, I'm sure you're faster. I've been watching your videos and it's good stuff - you're a good driver. I get that same unloading of the rear in turn 15 also sometimes. I think, my case, its from over turning. Have you talked to anyone about this. I would like to learn more about how NOT to do this (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) its kind of unnerving when it does happen. By the way the lighting looks great! Miguel Miguel - Shane and I put in 180 lb springs before the race to try to dial out any understeer on turn in and through the middle of the corner. If anything, I think it's perfect where it is. That unloading feeling is the rear end slowly stepping out as the outside tire reaches it's grip threshold, I think. Once I got a handle on it, it was a blast to drive and I could lay on (what little power) there was far before the apex. With a higher HP engine I'd probably step the spring rate down some, or in the best case scenario, put wider tires on it. You just have to get used to the car being "twitchy". No sudden corrections and taking the correct line into the corner is paramount. In the case of my tank slapper, I was just carrying way too much speed for the angle I was trying to achieve. If I turned in a shade earlier, it made all the difference in the world and I could bleed speed off through the turn, rather than slamming on the brakes and killing momentum. Remember, as Harry Hogg said, "Loose is fast." Did you drive the BMW at all? I hope to get on track with you at some point at a DE in the near future. |

Thanks George! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) That first stint was crazy. Wet track and dodging 90 faster cars. I just wanted to bring the car safely to the next driver. The radio system really helped a lot. Thankfully, Keith and crew fixed the rocker stud problem. Someone reused a stud with boogered threads (maybe without realizing it) and the stud was not up to it. No problem Joe. Marc's is up next cause it's the shortest. Yours should be up by tomorrow - it's going to take awhile to process.

I was going to see if George could install the seat backwards, it would have made it easier. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) That convex mirror he put in saved the day though. John |

Thanks George, man my neck hurt just watching that! i think all the action was the first stint, the pass in the grass at thirteen, after the edit, and a miata spun in front of me at the end as I was coming under the ridge

A well documented adventure and learning experience.
Coming back to race again after the clutch failure shows how well you all did. Bravo. |

Here's my (very pedestrian like) night stint. Could of pushed harder for sure. There was just something in my head about seeing that checker flag. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_flagge24.gif)
