The parts car I bought had the eyebrows welded, both sides. I guess it made one big 914 Uni-brow (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)

But his is the same guy that used a 30amp house breaker for a car stereo fuse (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif)

QUOTE (Reiche @ Jan 27 2005, 04:32 PM)
The POs hose idea is better than a nut and bolt. If something gets stuck in the headlight and you try to close it, something's got to give. Better the little rubber plugs than sheet metal or (God forbid) fingers.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) with his agreement ...

the headlight will scrape the flesh right off your fingers, down to the bone.
the rubber pluggs are in there so the "eyebrown" will move and your little fingers stay safe.
the rubber hose is definately better than bolts. if you insist on the stock parts, just get some of the little rubber thingies used from another club-member or from the usual parts places ...

Found a part number for you.

914 750 197 10 (6 required)

Might be available at dealers? PP and AA both list them. So it's not NLA (pardon the double negative.)

I was thinking the rubber hose was pretty smart for a quick fix. Get the originals if you can though.

That's flipping hilarious.
Sorry for laughing Aaron, it is MattR's fault with his editing wizardry.

Got mine from Performance Products. Part #905457 @$2.95 each. Think they were only a buck when I got mine, inflation. PP might be higher priced than others, but I usually get next day delivery without the headaches, crap I've gotten from other suppliers. The lack of headaches is worth it to me. Customer service counts.

Doesn't the shalom lose by default when it is push-powered?

What kind of 914 is a shalomV8??? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif)

The eyebrow grommets are available new. I recently purchased some from AA.

Used ones should be easy to find also. I have several used ones left over. Let me know if you need them.

My eyebrows have the rubber grommets, but one tends to move and get in the way of the motion of the headlamp. Last week it got caught under the headlamp as it was closing, and the fuse popped.

So now I'm wondering, will new grommets help to keep the eyebrow in place?

thanks doug...but i think imma just go with the nut n bolt idea...and when i do work on my headlights i'll just remove the eyebrow to prevent and dismemberment of fingers (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
