Have you tried naphtha? That stuff works wonders on glue material. I used it on my 911 to remove glue from the engine insulation pad.

Thanks for your tips. Anything must be better than what I'm using at the moment - Evostick Adhesive Remover. This adhesive is really baked on from the engine heat. If I fit new sound deadening I think I'll secure it with Velcro instead of glue.
