I call that stuff, "grown man erector set" the strut nuts fit in the strut, might have springs on them to hold the nut close to the mouth of the strut. 9/16" wrench will loosen the bolt and you can remove the brackets.

Lay it down first, so it does not fall on you.

Nope... no girly man 9/16" wrench.... 3/4" manly sized wrench needed! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
