The vent section is actually on the metal portion, covered with vinyl. We are doing the front section that has the ash try and the "hood" over the instrument cluster.
They should in theory fit and the only real issue we have anticipated is the glove box area.

I'm in!! when do we pay or how do we pay with group buy??pay 914 rubber directly with a note or what?? also I cannot pay till aug 1 is that too late??

Not too late. I'm just updating all that are interested. As spelled out in the 1st thread, I will open up the prepurchase phase as soon as I have my 1st article. It will take me about another 2 weeks to make the substructure in quantity and get the quantity of material I will need to make these.
So you should be fine. Even if you miss the 1st level of discount, the 2nd tier will be open for a few weeks I'd imagine.

Once I start shipping the price goes up. After all preorders are filled it goes to full retail.
I will start PMing all as soon as I have my first part in hand. You WILL need to bump this thread to get the code for the GB.

Ok, I am in for one! Bump.

We are wrapping up the tooling on the late dash tops in another 3-4 weeks. I say 5 as typically there's always something that takes a little longer. These are made from a NOS original. The method of manufacture will allow it to look like NOS, but will actually be more robust in that you will not have the expansion and contraction issues the OEM did, but the texture is an exact duplicate.

We are doing something a little different in having 2 levels of group buy. If you sign up before these go in production, your cost will be $310, if you execute the transaction, when these are a week from being ready to ship. Think "pre-order".

So you will have a period 1 week prior to place the order, we will contact you to let you know. This gets you the very best pricing.

If you can't do it right away, we will be keeping the GB open for 30 days after we start shipping , your order will be filled in order, and you cost will be $340. The full retail on these will be $399.

We didn't want to put this out there until we know we could make a good product.

I was really hoping to have a prototype ready for WCR, but it's just too close.

I wanted to thank Ken for making his NOS dash available for duplication, so the part will bear his name.

So who's game?

I'm in for 1973 fitment. Please confirm availability....

We are trying to finish up the little details on the tool itself. Looks like we are in the home stretch and as soon as I can get one done (trying for Friday), and get it fitted (Saturday of course). I will open it up. I will not take any money until I know my product is good, and the results are repeatable in quantity. It has drawn out longer than expected (seems like with new stuff it often does), but these are only days away now.

We are trying to get this wrapped up, but we have a section that's not fully cured. Rather than rush it, we are going to put this off til Monday. Sorry guys.

It's just so close, and it's painful to hold off, because it means I will need to wait a week to personally fit it. The day job is keeping me pretty busy too, so it may be next Saturday before the fit can be checked, unless I can get a extra day off somewhere.

Just killing me to not have a viable part yet. Finally got all the metal correct. Took a lot of going back and forth, but it's all ready.

Just adding some more vent holes to the mold. Took off Tue and Wed to be able to check the fit on this as soon as we have a part. We have an early and late car to check the fit stripped down so we can address fitment on both.
But if it was easy, I guess there would already be one of these on the market already. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
