Looking for a Ignition CM for my 1974 2.7l engine. I see the MSD 6201 Digital 6A on pelican and I am wondering if i'll run into any issues with that, and also what else would I need?

I think I'll go with that unit I mentioned. Do you have the coil part number? And with the cd and the new coil I should be ok as far as ignition correct?

Why? Why would you not want to take advantage of having a soft rev limiter?
Just wait until you over shift and are replacing values and doing a top end on your 2.7. you might wished bought one that had that feature. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) You can have issues with the sparkplug wires, and as mentioned you could have issues with the tach working correctly if you use a VDO.

You said MSD 6201 Digital 6A, I said MSD 6AL which is model #6425.
Model 6201 I don't see a mention of a rev limiter.

In a real bad missed shift a rev limiter is NOT going to save you, as that is a mechanical over rev.
In the same vane you should never use a rev limiter as a shift indicator. I don't care if they call it a "soft" limiter you are still loading and unloading the engine at high RPM.

A rev limiter is a safety device, but never think it's fool proof.

Oh ok my mistake. So with the 6al and that shock proof coil I should be complete? Still running a vdo gauge
