You can check for a stuck cold start injector. That could cause a very rich mixture. Thanks, I did take a piece of tubing attached it to the cold start valve and blew down it to see if it was open (ignition off) is this the correct procedure? that sounds like the AAR valve not the cold start valve- the cold start valve is an additional injector that is mounted to the plenum and injects extra fuel to increase richness when really cold , i think you are blowing into the AAR and that should be closed when warmed up, but would cause a high idle if stuck open . it would not cause you to have the sx you are talking about. |

...Whats the best way to check the fuel pressure... On the steel fuel line between the injectors on one side there is a T-tube with a small bolt at the end, just undo the bolt an hook up a pressure gauge on it and make the pump running. /Lars S Lars, tack för svaret men jag fattar inte riktigt vad du menar, kan du ta det på Svenska istället. Yes this is Swedish |

Does the MPS hold vacuum? I hope so Jeff it was you who rebuilt it about 2 months ago. I will check and let you know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Things to perhaps consider: 1. Valves are set correctly? 2. Harness at the ECU is seated correctly. 3. All harness connections check out including grounds, clean ect. I don't know Sweedish but the "fatter" word looks familiar (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Hope this helps. Hang in there. |

Yes this is Swedish No I refuse Swedish (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) See no 86 in this picture, the small nipple in the middle of that tube, thats where you connect the pressure meter. It might be on either side of the engine. /Lars S (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/images.thesamba.com-10787-1434393969.1.jpg) |

You wrote in the 1st post that it was misfiring, if not ignition causing it, to me that is running wery lean and not rich... so checking fuel pressure is not a bad idea...
