I got a question for you guys,.im am going to do a motor conversion to 3.0,3.2,3.6....gotta get one. I would like to no all the pro's and con's on these 3 motors. I can get all the technical info,thats not what I need. I need personal preferances,experiences, and how the car overall performs. not only powerwise but agility factor.............I no you guys are the ones to ask...thanks again....................72,914 pics soon.

IMHO the stock 901 trans with 3.0L and 205/50/15 tires is PITA. First gear is way too short and second gear is too long to use as a first gear. I hope my new wheels and 205/55/16 tires will help in this problem.
I dont know if you already know this about the engines, but 3.0L comes with CIS. If you dont like to use the stock CIS, you can chance it to twin triple throat Webers. They will give you some extra ponies, but the gas consumption will be astronomical too. Dont ask how I know.... |

3.2 is the best compromise engine...biggest you can get without reinventing the wheel. The 3.6 engine doesn't have an engine oil cooler, unlike all previous -6 engines, so you'll need to figure that out. 3.2's are cheaper as well. I don't think a 3.0 would be bad either, but 3.2's in a 914 are wicked fast!
