Jim McLeod,

Surprised and deeply saddened by the loss of such a wonderful person
Jim and I used to go to JV’s Restaurant often to see ‘Lord of the Strings’.
We both loved playing guitar and Jim could actually play well, very well, he
left me behind when we jammed together just as he left me behind whenever we rallied our 914’s to an event.

Jim was a very analytical, laid back 914 aficionado on the surface but he was a
race speed lover deep inside. Whenever I tried to keep pace with Jim my 914 got a hell of a workout.

I met Jim back in ’04 when I joined the 914 club. When he realized we lived ten minutes away from each other Jim saw to it that I got involved in 914 events. Over the last 10 years we chased each other around like we were 16 again in our 914’s
we went to lots of events, we had many combined projects, and right up until last week we were still dreaming up future projects together. Now that has all changed.

Jim was a great friend and I’ll miss him always. I am so deeply sorry for his wife Barbara and their family.

Thank you Jim for setting the bar high!

I didn't know about Jim's passing until today. What an awful shock. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Jim was a hell of a nice guy, and in a very large part responsible for my entry into the world of Porsche 914's. It all began when my excited friend Caroline called me and told me that she had bought a little white convertible named "Babydoll" from a gentleman in Vienna, who lived not too far from her house. Jim provided endless tech support and maintenance ideas to Caroline and to me, which came in handy as I ended up becoming the primary mechanic on the car. I am not 100 percent sure of this, but Jim may also have originally named "Babydoll."

RIP Jim, you will be missed.
