yeah i was looking at engine prices....they are runnign fairly cheap. my tired 2.0 for a new 1.7 sounds like a good deal....and i could just adjust my MPS and get a new computer, or just keep all my 2.0 stuff and buy a computer and MPS caibrated for 1.7

I am going to have a 1.7 FI for sale soon. Rebuilt top end by a local Porsche shop. Doesn't even have 300 miles on it yet. Super clean. You get brain, fires up and runs like new. $300 it's yours. Sorry for the plug. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/slap.gif)

So dan you decided to /6 the orange car rather that Blackie? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/happy11.gif) Sorry Rich, yeah, the orange car is getting flared and sixed reeeealy soon. Escpecially now that I have a motor just sitting in my garage. I just sent off the upper and lower dashes to the Evil one for treatment. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/boldblue.gif) I have all the pieces, just have to get Craigs V8 flares on and car out of here so I can start working on mine. the 1,7 is anemic.

Well, most of them are. There are a few exceptions. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

1.7 will squeel, consistantly.

It's not what I would call a classical 'tire mill'... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

Hey I got an early 1.7L W case low serial # from my 70 teener. set up for FI, Domed pistons, port matched heads, Lapped valves, no oil leaks. Made 32 MPG comming from Everrett last year. That was running 75 80 MPH car was loaded down with tons of crap. Motor push me and Rob Watson to 105 one hot summer day last year. Probably could have gotten more out but ran into traffic.
Ran it in 3 Autocrosses and changed it out for the 2.0L fire breather. Long block and tin computer intake throttle body distributor fuel pump pressure regulator No injectors or MPS.
Kentucky ain't far about 9 hrs. Come get it for 350.00
