I have mine stripped and on the spit. Will be embarking on left to right as soon as I finish some repairs on the longs. I have one of these pedal units to put in it: http://www.obpltd.com/Pedal-Boxes/Pro-Race...l-Box-OBP0002PR It will be a historic racer.

Cheers,

Thanks guys, fortunately I have plenty of room I dumped that old 911 out the back field (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sunglasses.gif) , I have it all stripped down now and up on my ramp, found some accident damage on the rear suspension console and driver side front but virtually NO rust (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Ok so the kids are in bed and the wife is out so it was car time !! Just to add it beer o'clock here now, I bought some new spot weld bits yesterday and they working great, I drilled the spot welds on the rear suspension console out and it really miffs me I'm going to have to cut a perfect engine shelf to replace the front grrrrr

Now the front I had to remove a very bent support (not sure of the right name) before I could get the persuader out to shift the floor and front mounts back down I'm fairly happy ... Comments welcome ..... There's still work to do on the front panel, I checked the hood fit and it's good so all the damage was below this level.

Once I have the car straight I'll embark on the right hand drive conversion, I'm using a 911 pedal box and I have a second bulkhead and floor section to cut up as I want it to look as factory as I can make it , you guys will be the judges of that so here are tonight's work pictures ... And I'm doing this now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif)

So i suppose i shold set the task list and the goals but the ultimate goal is to have a running drivig car !

Tasks-

1a) straighten body and repair the small amout of rust, lengthen front footwell to accept 911 RHD pedal assembly, move park brake to right side including long indent, move parkbrake cable tubes to right side, move steering coulmn mount and make sure it all mounts up.

2) Have the shell media blasted, fit Maddogs engine mount, inner long kit, chassis kit and sway bar reinforcement and then prep for paint.

3)Cut up dash and weld up as right hand drive, including 911 ignition switch i think i'm going to use an early dash as it gives me more room to play with as there is no dash vents,

4) Paint the car still onthe fence on the colour, i'll maybe do a poll closer to the time

5) While the shells away i'll rebuild and modify the suspension, i'm going for Elephant racing coil overs and bushes, Weiltmister front sway bar standard rear bar (thanks Garold) 911 park brake (Tangerine Racing).
Brakes are 911S front calipers, 911 Rear brakes complete, drilled and grooved front and rear vented discs

6) Build the suspension back in to the shell, wiring, dash, lights, doors, glass. rubber seals (thanks Mark)
Wheels i know what i want but there a supprise ! just need to save up !

7) Hopefully my engine will have arrived and isnt in to bad shape .... freshen and install into car either Carbs or Throttle bodies with EFI knowing my luck it will need a full rebuild !

8)Interior custom carpets due to it being RHD, seats (i may go down the sports seats route) reinstall all the trim

9) pray alot that everything goes close to plan ......

so lots of this (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) abit of this (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) to hopefully do this (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

You might want to try and do a poll instead. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

I was wondering what happened to that car!

I can't wait to see it come back to life, sounds like you have a great plan (and a lot of work).

Good luck!

Looks like an excellent starting point for your project Neale.
I'm interested in seeing the RHD conversion as you proceed.

Hi all, been a bit of a random month with no work on my car, and my excuse is my better half was rushed in to hospital for 2 weeks ! Thankfully she's now back home and on the road to recovery.
So excuses given and the work begins again

The main work to take place is the extension of the footwell to accommodate the pedal assembly I'll be starting to cut this weekend keep an eye out for updates as this is going to be fun.
I want to keep the look the factory probably would have left so once I've mocked it up please feel free to comment !
