I bought one done by one of the knowledgable guys for about $500 about 5
years back.

Unless you know something that I don't about the engine setup, seems like the
easiest and best curve would be the one from 2.2L 'E' and 'S' (same).

When I built up my 2.7, I ended up using Richard Clewitt's Electromotive setup. You can occasionally find used systems as well, but I think crank fired setups are the best way to go with a custom engine as you can easily reset the curve as needed electronically.

Otherwise, Jerry Woods would be a great source for recurving the distributor.

I have one out of a running car for $250 + ship. Boss said its the right one for your car. If you buy it and for whatever reason don't want it, you can return it. Mark

tornik550: That sounds like the deal to take!
If you pass, I may have to snag it from mepstein for my similar build.

Nathan - it's sold but you can always give me a ring for whatever you need.

Although prices will vary

Anyone care to throw a rough cost number out?
Also curious about the recurve costs, even if its a range?

When I was looking about 2 years ago I was quoted in the $600 range.

Then this fell into my lap (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif)

Looks great, is it a JB unit? Those12 cylinder distributor looks real cool, especially if you want the old RSR look. Does it turn clockwise or counter clockwise? Any updates with those web cams you bought from me?

That is a Jarvis/ Patrick Motorsports dizzy and wires, the trigger is MSD and the cap is a Jaguar 12 cylinder. I have the MSD and 2 MSD high vibration coils.
I thought it looked cool but once in a 914 you can barely see it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Your cams cost me a bit more than I hoped, I didn't realize a 993 cam set used a different sprocket set-up and the adjustment tools are over $1000 alone.
So I had my crank grinder cut off the power steering drive then submersion weld and grind the sprocket end square. Cutting the woodruff key took some head scratching, but I found a dremel disc that fit my air die grinder and I trimmed it to fit. I indexed it on my lathe and cut the woodruff key. Now it accepts the stock 911 timing sprocket.
