(IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) I wish I could be. I've got a damn work deal in Portland Wednesday. Really convenient (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) . I will head down as soon as I can Thursday. Want to get everything loaded Wednesday night. Then I can just head out first thing. Between tables & all the extra stuff. I will have a very loaded truck bed. I'm going to forgo bringing my track wheels. With the possibility of rain that day. My street tires are probably a better fit anyway. Plus it give's me more space. Don't forget to bring a folding camp chair people (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |

See you Wednesday evening Mike. I will update the "official uploader" when I'm there!
I'm going to be in and out of the event. Not going to be at the track or any of the drives, I'm going to Klamath Falls to see my kids (my oldest daughter turned 26 on Saturday). I will be at the evening festivities though. |

if you have never been through an AX tech inspection and plan on AX or track time you might wanna look it up and see what it all consist of...most is a no brainer but something might catch you by surprize and wouldnt that stink if you couldnt participate because you have bunge`s on your battery or a missing lug nut or an out of spec skid lid
MikeC..... get in sit down shut up and hang on (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Basic autoX things they check at tech inspection.
*Front wheel bearings (no wiggle in front wheels) *Battery needs to be strapped down *Car needs to be empty of clutter (don't want anything rolling around in cab or *trunks) *No fuel leaks (duh) *Helmet needs to be SH2000 or newer (this is the last year for 2000 so don't go buy one) I bought a 2010 which will be good for at least 5 years *your brakes work (again duh) *Seat belt must work. Stock is fine just needs to clip & keep you in place If I missed anything please add it to the list (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

mike would love to see how that tow bar attaches. Did you use a super beetle tow bar Read the last few pages of my build thread and you can see how it's mounted. It might be a SB but I don't know. I bought both pieces for $20 at a swap meet. I could not use the under body piece because my car is too low. So I cut it up, using only the mounting tabs and fabricated it into the body and roll cage. Link is in my signature... |

you gotta love the 12 valve Mr Bellis I like the tire wheel package to I do love the 12V! I had is supped up too. It's like driving a hot rod. With the 5 speed I can get a second gear chirp and when I had the bed off, I was getting wheel hop at WOT on the freeway in 5th gear. It's loud. It stinks. It's awesome! And it's a 1997 so there is no smog in California. 1998 and newer have to go through bi-annual smog checks. Wheels are 16x10 Centerline with 34" BFG's. |
