May have to head directly south done 35 to 70 to Denver and then south. Let me know if Durango is on the route. You are welcome to stay in the guest wing! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) The drive from I-25 to Durango on US 160 is really nice once you get close to Wolf Creek Pass. Or you can take 35 all the way to Wichita then head West and pick up US 160 around Garden City, Kansas... I can probably get you a place to sleep in Garden City, if you know what I mean, which is 8 hours from Durango. |

Thanks but Wow guys! that's really far north on my route. I'm scared I'm not going to make it out of the state much less north of Denver. But maybe I can catch you guys on the road. Weather is going to play a huge part in my journey. May have to head directly south done 35 to 70 to Denver and then south. I don't have any heat and with these fat tires I really can't hit snow or heavy rain. Seriously Rick, install some seat heaters. Can be done while watching a football game in your favorite chair. It's that easy! ~ $65.00. See you there. You can make it too, Rob. You don't want to remember this one as "the one that you wished you would have made. 914 Events / The more the merrier! |

Hey, looking to hook up with the SoCA caravan. Looks like some will be from LA, some from OC, some from SD.
Any thoughts on where is best to hook up? |

By the time of the event, it maybe 2 blocks long.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/betty914.jpg) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/betty914.jpg) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/andy914.jpg) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/creamsicle914.jpg) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/red914.jpg) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/signal914.jpg) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/signal914.jpg) The Durango Caravan will be 1 car long.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fuchia914.jpg) Mike, our route is dependent on weather so we may do the I-70 then down through Moab, or the I-25 then west through Albuquerque. Or fly into Phoenix. We'll keep you posted so maybe we can meet up. Disclaimer - Gint doesn't slow down for anyone. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/irish914.jpg) Latest discussion here at Area51Werks is I may drive to Vegas solo and pick Sandy up at the airport. We would be joining the Vegas caravan. Not carved out yet but that is the plan. Rick, you know you're welcome to use our house as a pit stop or caravan with us or whatever. So if we add the SoCal caravan to the Vegas caravan we'll be 3 blocks long?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) I think it would be awesome if the caravan from Vegas could hook up with the So. Cal. caravan in . . . . . say, Kingman at noon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) We could have lunch at the Route 66 Diner (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif) and then follow Hwy. 66 to Seligman and take I-40 on into Flagstaff. SoCal'rs, How 'bout this. Since we anticipate multiple cars we will need a staging area to begin our journey. I suggest we meet @ Ruby's Diner (4.5 stars on yelp) on the 10 @ Cabazon. They open at 0700. Meet n eat, depart 0800 for Kingman. If you run late you'll only miss breakfast but not hold up the group. In reality we will need a 15 min fuel/"pit stop" enroute. Add another 15 min's for Murphy and we are looking @ a 12-12:30 Kingman arrival.
