I purchased a set of flared fiberglass rockers a couple of years ago from Patrick Motorsports.

Spent some time trying to fit them and they really are shit...

1. They are warped.
2. Overtrimmed along the top edge where the rivets are

I am looking for the BEST source for the fiberglass rockers with flared ends to match the GT flares...

Quality and fit are very important.

Recommendations?

Check with Peter at Rennspeed, I am sure I saw them listed on his web site.

Hi Qarl,
Good to see you working on the 914 again, it's starting to get warmer up here and I will be able to get back into the garage to do more work on mine. I had rockers from three different sources and not one of them fit even close. All of them were over trimed like you mentioned, I ended up putting about 40 hours!! of work into them to make them right. I didn't try the ones from Rennspeed (wasn't aware of the at the time). I can say, stay away from the the onesa at AA and PP/AM.

Dan Root used ones from Rennspeed on the orange flare car and he recommends them. I will get a set for the flared V8.

Maybe you guys could put together a group buy, Joe Buckle is going up there next week to pick up his new rear flared 1/4 panels and my 916 rear bumper. If you guys are all ready to buy, I can call him and have him get it all together and do it all at once. Just a thought.

I sold my FG rockers and flared my old steel ones myself. I haven't come across a decent set in FG.

I cant believe that anything that Rennespeed sells is any good, the gt valance I purchased from them was a piece of crap and they wouldnt credit or accept the return of it.

All glass stuff I am purchasing from now on will come from Getty.

Qarl why chance it over a few bucks, you get what you pay for.

Seems to be mixed reviews of Rennspeeds products. I am speaking from my experience, I have bought 3 sets of Fiberglass bumpers from him and didnt have a problem with any of them. They all fit fine with very little work. The work comes from having a car that was hit or in an accident in the past and shody body work when it was repaired. He is close by and the prices are fair and reasonable so I am going with what works for me.

I purchased a front bumper, rear flared bumper, flared rocker panels, rear flares, front flared fenders and all of it was from Rennspeed. Peter ( I think was his name) was realy easy to work with. Although all the pieces need ALOT of work. The flared rockers didnt seem to match up to the style of gt flares, but after alot of time shaping them they worked out fine.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) You know-it pisses me off to no end to read stuff like this--when I got my F/G flares I had to put an absurd amount of time into them-all four were completley different form each other, no two looked even close-as if lighthouse for the blind was making them--( not bagging on blind people )-the rice burners get thier stuff, paint it and mount it----seems for the price these people could put effort into making some decent crap--instead of substandard crap---

Yep, they just needed a little trimming and fit right on. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
