I have removed just about everything i can possible take off the block except for what is inside it. I am assuming with all bolts and everything taken off i would basically be prying the block apart but my knowledge is limited. Am i right in trying to pull it apart?

There are some "hidden" bolts in the flywheel area in I'm not mistaken but once all bolts are removed it should pry apart with a little effort. Start in the oil pump area and just move around the case carefully.
