I'm reassembling my Dells. Which way do the lower venturis go in? With the number towards the top?

The narrowest end goes up. If I remember correctly the numbers go up.

Tapered end up to transition the incoming airflow from the large carb throat to the narrow venturi throat. The square end goes down to ride on the square bottom of the carb throat.
If yours is not that way...well, it's wrong and you're creating turbulent airflow and reducing power. |
