(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) I'm planning on driving down from the SF bay area* to see Rusty. First and last time I saw him was at MUSR in Dallas/Ft. Worth. I dunno about you guys, but ever since 9/11, and especially since he arrived back in the states, I've been dying to see him face to face, if just to say thanks. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/flag.gif) Ha!!! Now this thread is political!!

The poor guy's gotta work on it in the hotel parking lot?! I hope someone's driving a forklift down there. I should be able to make the drive. I'll bring lots of tools. What kind of maintainance parts you need? Oil filter? Plugs? Plug Wires? Cap and rotor? Points and Condenser? Floor Jack? Jack stands? Name it bub and I'll try to grab what I can.

Mike / Rusty,

Not that my place is 'on the way' or even clean, but if you need space, I have it. I have enough jackstands for one and a half 914s, which incidentally is the quantity of 914s in my possession.

Oil filter sounds good. I have a little gated parking area that I get access to. This is where the car will be stored/worked on. I will be looking forward to seeing you all down here (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

Mine's a 90, and don't even get me started on it. It was a cheap car, let's just leave it at that. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

Mark,
You are one of the nicest people that I have met. I wont need it for his, but I may need it for mine. I have to bust some ass to get the car together by WCC. I need to work at night and in the rain. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) I am sure I can repay the favor. Okay.. Just so that people can plan, I think we ought to nail down something in the next couple of days.

Hey Mike, after the airport, I'm wondering if the first stop can be a hotel, so we can drop Pam off. That way, she'll get an opportunity to relax and get a nap.

BTW, where is Old Town in relation to SD?

-Rusty (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif)

P.S. An oil change is an excellent idea. I should have planned for that when we talked about the push-rod seals.

I'm ignoring you? Nooooo. I'm ignoring CLAY! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

You can fly out if ya want... but, the only space in the 914 would be in the front trunk to ride back. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Love this place!  I stop here everytime I'm doin a beach cruise.

Jay's Seafood - Carlsbad

The big seafood pasta plate is awesome!  I even have a T-shirt.

What if the wife and I were to participate?  She's getting a job offer tomorrow.  I need a vacation.  Wanna put my toes in the ocean somewhere.

If you want to come out and tinker with the car with me... that's more than cool, brother.

Hopefully, we'll get the car situated on Saturday, so Sunday can be Sea World.

We're flying out on the 16th. Were you thinking about flying or driving?

P.S. Clay is busy tinkering in the classifieds, I think.

I want to know why you didn't plan this for a week later so you could meet EVERYONE at WCC. Slits was just kidding about not allowing admins to attend (I think) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

Howard... didn't mean to ignore your post.

Sorry, the schedule at work isn't going to allow me time to drive back after the WCC. Flying there and back would work, except I'd have no way to get my car home. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif)

So, I do the best I can, but I do hope to attend the WCC next year. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)
