Just wondering for those who where at the route 66 and does not have their rain tray, any feedback or trouble when too much water went in the engine bay? for F.I. and for carbs?
Thank you! |

You need to contact Forrest, he made a cover from a Home Depot cement mixing tray.
He didn't have any problems. I didn't see or hear of any issues. |

Hi Noel, I have a GT style grille and am running a 2.7L /6 with CIS. I had no problems with rain affecting the electrical system at all. The only difference I have done on my airbox is an added "snorkel" that tucks under the engine bay near the rear firewall so I am not sucking in wet air. The air filter would have stopped it but then I would have a wet air filter. Truthfully - I think I was lucky as we hit A LOT OF RAIN at one point in New Mexico. Stock Air Filter housing: With "Rain Snorkel": |

no rain tray on mine
double GT style grill stock Djet no covers or extra effort of any kind on mine I thought... I was getting wet contacts on the regulator/panel turns out my regulator was just loose and needed to be seated better but no rain problems in the engine bay (unfortunately both trunks and interior are all full of water, but that's a different story) |

No rain tray on my 3.2. I have a cone-type AEM air filter and put a water-repellant breather cover over it before my trip. I was concerned with covering the grill while parked and had the umbrella cover on the first couple of days, but MOVQIK pointed out that my air filter and distrib etc are under the 'non-grill' portion of my cover.
Anyways, no problems. |

Just look at all those little white spit-balls Mike had lined up on the table - precursor to a food fight if you'd ask me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
