First cardboard template is ready. I had hoped the right side would be the mirror image, but it will need some adjustment due to the oil cooler lines.

It’s still snowing, so I’m “stuck” in the garage for a while longer - looks like another week in the forecast.

The first fender liner is cut and in place for final fitting.

The right rear fender liner is ready- I’ll round some corners on final install.

As with the front, the other rear liner is a mirror, but will need minor adjustment due to oil tank.

The material is 1/8” polyethylene; it’s very tough. I originally wanted a textured surface, but could only find the smooth type in thinner material.

Used the JWest trunk hinges today. I needed to get them mounted, so I can get the oil tank mounted.

They work very well.

How are you going to mount the fender liners? They look sweet!

I’ve been thinking about that question, and don’t have a full answer yet. Currently, I plan to locate small brackets in the fender well with Scotch-Weld epoxy adhesive.

Looks like the right fender well liner will need minimal change from the left side. I decided to finish the oil cooler install first, so the oil lines in the fender well will be at their permanent location.

Here is the change I made to the shroud to allow its removal without moving the cooler. Now for final fitting and paint.

I’ve been thinking about that question, and don’t have a full answer yet. Currently, I plan to locate small brackets in the fender well with Scotch-Weld epoxy adhesive.

At the front you could extend a bracket off the stud on the back of the front lamp housing.
At the rear attach to the pinch weld flange. On the drivers side there is already a hole there for an antenna support bracket.

Yep, I think there are ways to make that work. I have oil lines running through the right side, so I’m using the same places to mount brackets to hold the metal lines.

Working on the intake grill again. My idea for a simple bottom section of the frame doesn’t work, so I’ve decided to try recreating the same thing the original GT grill has - the contour and bends will be difficult with my limited tools.

Yeah - i need to straighten the garage tomorrow.

Here’s a pic of a very good copy of an original GT grill. This came from Armando’s Pelican posts on his GT project.

This would be a great product for Ben to add to his line of conversion parts. @mb911
