QUOTE(a914luvr @ Aug 3 2016, 04:46 PM) *

RIP my good friend.

Apparently, he arrived for work this morning and was in too much pain to get out of his truck. They made him go to urgent care where he passed away on the operating table. Not sure if this is 100% accurate, but my understanding is he had internal bleeding...

Sounds like a possible triple A.
RIP. Condolences to the family. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Yes, very bad back pain, sometimes radiating followed by sudden loss of conciousness and death. Consistent with a AAA. So sad. He was true 914 royalty, in a very down to earth way... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Just checked in after a long day. I have one less true friend. Ron's back up 6 engine is here at Area51Werks going in my 6. If it weren't for his generosity I would not have an engine. One of my sadest days ever.

This one hurts.

Ron was one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met when it came to all things Porsche 914. He was always willing to share if asked.

I remember MANY years ago I posted a question about which vendor had the bronze roller for the trunk. He sent me a PM asking for my address. I asked him how much for the parts and he said "There ain't no price"..... The parts arrived in few days later.

Godspeed my friend.

Ron with his "That Guy" award at Red Rocks 2013.

very sorry to hear this, condolences to his family.

i'm also sorry to have missed the opportunity to meet him. reading all your posts on this thread brings that into sharper focus. i've benefited from his knowledge and enjoyed his wit.

this thread makes me think, i really have no idea what most of you look like, only knowing you through your intellect, as shown by your words...

I think the "that Guy award" needs to be a Plaque with Ron's face on it. I love Ron & think that would be a fitting tribute he would smile down on (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

My prayer to his family & many many friends. It is a sad sad day for us all bud. I can hear the story of your fuel pump getting ripped off when you turned around for Toasts phone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) . Can't remember if that was Red Rocks or Route 66. So many stories Ron I thank you for & your generosity anytime anyone needed help or parts. You were the craziest Saint I ever met (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)
