I was admiring your fastback! Bitchin car, I loved the shelf under the dash and cup holders of integrated.

My friend had a squareback that was punched to a 1776 and that thing broke so many necks.

QUOTE(Larmo63 @ Sep 3 2016, 09:29 PM) *

We did dominate today…….

Just sayin'

I overheard a few 911 "snobs" saying that they are looking for a 914 to buy.

Funny.

Definitely got a lot of attention; I think we had more cars in the cone zone than when they featured the 356's

Looked more like a WCR with Leamon's signage

Y'all absolutely did outdo the 356s by about 2x Jim! All y'all Dun Good! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

Thanx for coming out, & Thanx to whomever gave the talk to the group. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
PS - & Thanx for taking & posting the pix too!

Here's what Cone Zone organizer & ex-longtime 356 guy Dick Douglas said:

"It was the best GPX Breakfast ever!!!

Everyone love the social aspect of the cars.

Thank you so much for putting it out there to the 914 World. I met that person and family and we had a great time.

Take care.

DD"

Dick is one of ou most senior concours judges in Zone 8, & is always amazed with the 914ers turnouts at the various CdEs & events, since I started posted about them on here in 2015 when SoCalAndy was competing with his yellow -6/M471 build.

And that goes for whether we're talking entered or display 914s - just the whole group & camaraderie.

And as Lawrence said above, the tail-dragger guys are now taking notice of the 914s, & many have owned 914s in past years.

We're just not NARP anymore in most everyone's minds today!

So do continue to come out & represent the 914 community at our PCA Zone 8 events (or wherever you live).

And consider the PCA membership too, which covers 2 people & the excellent "Panorama" monthly magazine (which I MHO is now better than Excellence) for the $46 a year.

Cheers! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Not sure sir Tom if it was my family he was talking about but we my family did talked to him.
Those are my two daughters who loved riding to this little car. And the young boy is my nephew who visited us and now insisting his dad to finish the 73 1.7 that has been in jack stand for more than 15 years.

You see, there is progress .... he's pushing Dad to get it done! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

My kids too occasionally give me a (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) to keep going on getting mine done .... or to finish the other projects & get them out of the way to get me back on my 914 as well!

Actually, Tom we're not really sure if you truly do own a 914.

As my Dad would say: "Wise A$$!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Actually TWO - but it will be a "2 go in & 1 comes out" deal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Hey, but you have to give me full credit for hanging onto mine for 31 years now, since May 1985, with the plan to get her back on the road again - & this is after my doing a +/-$7500 rolling resto already back in 1980-83 before she got whacked while parked by a ditzy gal just 2 years after completion! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

I created my own "Barn Find" of sorts! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

So there Sir Lawrence! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
