I didn't post the information last year and got slamed by you guys. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) So this year I wanted to make sure I posted the information. This will be our 3rd year attending a 20+ year old event. We like to take the caravan up Friday and leave Sunday afternoon.

Last year, we drove the flared orange six I just completed. There was only 3 other 914's there and we had the only six. This year, again I will be driving a recently completed six up there. Probably no flares though.

Anyone wanting to come please check out the web site. It is hosted by the CWR and PNWR.

So, can we put this in the Nailed or events area? Admins? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif)

Heck, I was just up there last weekend skiing. Didn't drive the 914 thou.....
Coming back, the 'merican border guards are getting meaner and meaner....even seached the friggin car. That was a waste of 30 minutes.

Thanks!

BC isn't in the cards for us this year, i don't think, but i do want to get back up there. beautiful country!

i know there are people in that part of the country who will appreciate the advance notice.

as one of last year's "beaters" i'm glad to thank you now for the opportunity to plan.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/happy11.gif) You werent the only one. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/happy11.gif) I am hoping that a couple, heck even one other club member or couple show up in a 914. The older gen air cooled crowd really doesn't have a presence in this event. It is mostly populated by cars less than 5 years old. So lots and lots of 986's, 996's, some 993's and just not many early cars. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

Geoff

Why is it as an American citizen there is more hassle crossing back into America from Canada than the other way around.

I have crossed the border at the Peace Arch and Sumas hundreds of times and the Canadians are always more friendly. Do all the American border guards assume that you have been in the gaslight district of Vancouver (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif)

Back on topic - Wish I could go, Whistler is fun in the summer, bit to far of a drive.

Whistler weekend is a great event! I went about 11 or 12 years ago and had a blast. The drive up was fun, save for a couple maniacs. I remember having too much to drink and, and, and uh nevermind hee hee.

forget it dan. like all things happening in the pnw it will not be nailed. now if it was in cal or texas, or some other place on the planet, it would be up top faster than you can get out a hammer and a nail.

BTW Dan, if you do go wear a bra.

There is mass road construction due to the road widening for the Winter Olympics in '10. Lots of rocks on the road and 30 minute delays (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Thanks for the info Dan! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif)
Just downloaded everything and plan on registering next week. Being from Banff, Alberta, this is surely the closest event for me. Getting anxious just thinking about it.

Hope to see you there. Cheers, Dominic. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif)

Just giving this a bump as what little spots remian are going fast. My plan is to drive my latest flared 914-6 to this. Last couple of years, there was only 3-4 teeners there. It would be nice to see a stronger 914 showing.

hey guys - i'm one of the 914's that showed up at whistler last year - i've attended both west coast classics, and I also do a few local pnwr events - whistler is a really good time, especially of you are with a "non-car" person - there's lots to do up there - all the folks are real nice, and i was very pleased to take 3rd place in class (class by year, i think) - it was great to see 914's get appreciated!!! - the only shortcoming for me about whislter is the lack of any organized drives - there are a bunch of great roads up there!!!

Root_Werks,

There was another 914World.com member up there last year!
It was me..I'm the one that was checking out your car next to the Blackcomb ski lift. I was up there to hang out for a few days and happen to come by the event.
Wish I could attend with my 6 , but that would be along way to drive (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif)

Enjoy the event...maybe I might see you there- I go there often to hang out

I was also there last year but just came for the car show. I had just finished my teener but it called for rain that weekend and I figured my wife wouldnt appreciate a 6 hour rainy drive with 32 year old targa seals above her.We took the van and checked out the cars in the am and then went Mountain biking. What a blast. I will introduce myself to your group if I can make it this year. Yes I have new seals but a suuny weekend would sure be nice.

Two reasons:
cheap and easy to get pot and "other" people bring stuff that blows other stuff up
