Thanks there was another that I mentioned I would be making the bushings as apparently they were not available and there. The ones being made were not using bearing bronze like factory so I stepped up and got the correct material. Made the follower like the 914 version and also the puck for the 911 version.

Looking at providing a service on an exchange basis. Or just selling parts. but will be doing a tutorial.

From what I can see there are 3 different versions of this rack

Progress made. We are documenting how we need to do the rebuild procedure and finishing up the new boot tooling.

I'm happy with the new oil bronze bushings we made, and just need to put a few together to make sure we can provide a repeatable consistent process.

We did obtain a Porsche factory tool to assemble these.

If this works the way we plan. WE will try to have one of each 3 types in stock on hand and do an exchange keeping your down time to a minimum.

Parts an labor should be about $200. Just need to add up the costs and time it takes.

Tooling for boot is done

Mark,

Do you plan on offering a DIY kit for those of us who would attempt to rebuild their own? Cost?

Still compiling the parts. We will offer you the parts for those that want to. It does have some very specific rebuild instructions and torque values that we plan to adhere to. Also the fixture sets the angles for the ends, but I don't see any reason it can't be done as a DIY project.

Is this for 914 only? What about a 911/912 rack?

Thanks

911 / 912 also, but as they are slightly different may need to rebuild yours. There are 3 variations to these 911 / 912 is a little more unique, but basically the same.

That would be awesome Mark and your estimate of $200 seems fair. There is a guy on the other coast who is charging a stupid amount for a rebuilt rack. Please let me know when your ready.

Thanks

Will do. The CHT project bumped this out a week, but I'll be back on this this next week.
We have enough in to get started now.
