My 1974 914 came with a 5 gauge instrument dash from a mid-70's 911. The wiring wasn't perfect by all means, but all gauges were working including my Oil (Druck) Pressure gauge, which I really like. Unfortunately, my secondary mechanic was working on my center console wiring and somehow screwed up my Oil (Druck) Pressure gauge on my dash. This is a combo Oil Pressure and Oil temp gauges. Now when I turn on my car the Oil (Druck) Pressure Gauge reads 5. I've since had my wiring redone correctly, but the Druck Pressure Gauge still reads at 5. My ace mechanic seems to believe the gauge was damaged or shorted out. Can this be fixed or do I need a new gauge?
