Ever wonder why a car with only 25k miles and only too loving owners (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sheeplove.gif) needs so damn much work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

The VIN tags dont even look stamped. They look like laser etching.

That would explain why they are so perfectly aligned and spaced.

My thoughts exactly. Even being 45 yrs old, an engine/trans shouldn't need a full rebuild with that low of mileage.

Unless it's documented, mileage is easy to fake. Anybody can drop a different speedo in a car or adjust the current one. Some states require mileage on the title but some don't. That car looks super sketchy but I'm not a numbers matching guy so real six / fake six, whatever.

Yes it did, at least the fours.

Would like to see a photo of the fender and the chassis number in the trunk.

Yes it should have the fender stamped VIN. Would be very interesting to see
that area.

Also, what the hell does original miles even mean when most of the car has
been painted and the rear fenders were obviously welded with different flare
shape.

All three identifiers shown are replacements.
The two 'stamped in' ones are not shown.
Somethin' fishy.

But at least we've got pictures of his wife, kids and dog. So that all lines up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

It is the auto kennel after all, where stray dogs go to market.

Those rear fenders are AWFUL. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif)

The VINs look illegal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif)

I doubt if this car is at his shop. Paul needs to be made aware of the problems pointed out in this thread.

What's with the dimples in the 4s? Clearly not stamped.

At least we know that in fact Frank Hubbard has indeed passed.

Either someone hacked into Auto Kennel's site and listed this car or their reputation is going to take a big hit.

I emailed Paul this morning and passed on this link thread. He replied with the following:

Thx Greg. Really appreciate the heads up. We are pulling it off our site this am and bringing in some big guns in the 914 world to go through the car with me.

After that, we will see what we want to do.

Cheers,

Paul
