very cool, thanks for sharing
I'm in the market for seats. Trying to decide if I want to recover my stock seats, rebuild them with side bolsters, or buy something from classiccarseats.com |

You don't need a wheelbarrow-full of cash. Are you aware that Mark @ 914 Rubber is selling recovering kits? I did mine a couple winters ago in red, had a local professional do the work, and they look fantastic.

Not knocking his prices, just not cheap! |

Cheap and good are usually mutually exclusive.

The reason I had highlighted these seats was the plaid obviously but additionally the nice "sport seat"-like bolstering that was done.
Don't always see this and unfortunately 914 Rubber's seat covers don't do this or allow for this. For the budget minded, 914 Rubber's seat covers are great. If you want something a bit more custom....be prepared to pay more. |

We can do whatever you want, just a matter of money. I set mine up to appeal to the most customers and be as reasonable as possible. The wool tartan is not some Chinese product, and is a pattern set up in a loom. this is made here in the US, and is a durable product. Correct for the 914's of the 75-76 vintage.

I really like how these seats look. I contacted Tony G. at Autobahn Interiors: $1400 for the set of 2 seats if you provide cores. I would do this immediately if Autobahn was local. I wonder if there is someone in the Bay Area that can do this quality work?

I've used Harold's Upholstery in Palo Alto before. He re-did the seats in my CRX with fabric from spare seats I had bought, and replaced some of the foam with more durable stuff. He also re-did the seats in my wife's SC, and similar foam and reinforcement work.

My Tartan plaid seats. Love them. I am second owner and the original seats were same material. 74 1.8... Obviously had them redone. But close to what originally came in car.

Mark - I know this won't be part of a sale but I've thought about a matching set of door cards. When you have a minute, please give me a quote. Black vinyl on the top. Thanks! |

I'll get back to you Monday I need to see how much I have on hand, but yes and it wouldn't be a lot of material.
