I have a '75 2.0L car and just took a GA engine out of it. I think GA was used for that year? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I also have a GC case. Is there a big difference between the cases?

Take a look at the engine number chart here: http://p914.com/p914_engine.htm

See if the GC case serial number is in the serial number range for a 75 motor, if so it may be the original motor. Only a COA will tell you that for sure. If not, it's a transplant.
