Very interesting take on the current low end air cooled market, Makes a hell of a lot of sense. |

Have to say I've been seeing more 914's pop up at Washington/Baltimore area car events in recent years, but I'd say most of the owners I have met are 45+.
My young adult sons are very much into the air-cooled Porsches and desire their own cars, not for the collectability but for the driving experience and the ability to service/mod these cars themselves. As for new, well most have become bland and homogenized IMHO, but I have to say my wife's '08 Elise SC is an absolute ball to drive - reasonably priced, light weight (1950 lbs), fairly simple in comparison to other cars of the era, not loaded with mountains of power that get you in trouble quickly but still requires skill to master, and driver feedback that surpasses my 914 and 911. As for PCA, agree results vary, but the cost alone is worth Panorama magazine... |
