My stock 1.7 w code motor is being built and will run twin 40 webers. The engine came with a distributor with the following part number 022 905 205 H and part of the fuel injection on it.

It has a vac advance and appears to be in excellent condition inside.

Will the above carb / dizzy combo work?

If not what set up have people found to work best based on my set up?

Thanks for the advice. Had problems with 009's in the past so will steer clear of them.

I didn't want to have to split the case but if i must so be it. If i do replace the cam (assuming next size up from standard) do i need to replace lifters & rods?

Ideally i want to keep the engine as stock 1700 as possible without pumping it up in combustion size.

Any suggestions from people who have built and run this?

If the idf's require too much work is there a twin set up alternative.

I've been on the samba but i seem to find power builds.

Carbs need a vacuum advance in order to have a smooth low rpm idle (800) with correct timing at higher rpm's (+2500)
