I understand that the 73 2.0 D-jet used a 270 ohm resistor in line with the 017 CHT.
Which happens to be no longer available.

What resistor should be used in line if running the 012 cht.
I saw somewhere that is should be 1200 ohm
does that seem correct?

037 ECU
037 MPS
012 CHT

That's a mishmash of parts that have not been tested together.

Best to get a variable potentiometer and play around with various values, to see what works best.

Jeff

Glad you jumped in here.

I thought that the only odd thing from a 73 2.0 setup was the 012 CHT.

I understand that it should be a (NLA) 017 sensor.

Is the ECU wiring the same for the 037 and 043/044 ECU at the plug?

Since I cant get a 017 CHT maybe I would be better off with a 043/044 ECU and recalibrate the MPS for that.

What do you think?

BTW

I did add a 0-500 ohm variable pot and had it set at 270 ohm to start. But using it with the 012 sensor might still be way off...

You can buy the appropriate resistor and attach some wire connectors pretty easily. How will you know what the appropriate resistance is? Do you have an air/fuel meter?

--> No, the 73 2.0L is unlike any other. It is a 1.7L system adapted by using the 1.7L ECU, the special TS2 sensor and a specially calibrated MPS. Other than that it is identical to the 1974 2.0L.

I understand that it should be a (NLA) 017 sensor.

Is the ECU wiring the same for the 037 and 043/044 ECU at the plug?
--> The 73-74 FI harnesses are identical.

Since I cant get a 017 CHT maybe I would be better off with a 043/044 ECU and recalibrate the MPS for that.

What do you think?

The 73 2.0 and 74 2.0 are both excellent systems, they just need to use the correct parts that are all matched to each other. If you have a 73 2.0L ECU and MPS, just find the right TS2 and ballast resistor. Once operating temp is reached, the TS2 is not a factor, so it is only in play upon cold start-up.
