It used to run 14inch 5bolt fuchs with cantilevered slicks. dave and Ellen were great folks. My very first ever set of dedicated track tires were free hand me downs that Dave gave me from that car |

My very first ever set of dedicated track tires were free hand me downs that Dave gave me from that car Thanks Brant. I'm always thankful when I can find any history on the car. I also spoke with Walt Fricke from your area about the car as he too remembered it. ...someone in CO I think has the original engine for this car so i ...or had it anyway. I wish Grady Clay was still around as he might have an idea where it went as I think he built the first race motor for the car. (if you ever catch wind of a 914/6 engine in your area for sale let me know) I think the current engine with its unique build details was built by Peter Dawe for a doctor in the CO area and then Dave purchased it from him. It was most recently maintained and freshened up by a guru up in Canada by the name of Rudy Bartling. ...rumor has it that it has long rods from some Toyota race motor in it. It will be interesting when I finally have to have it torn down to verify that. ...probably just shared more info than anyone needed here. Cheers, Jay |
