Ok
I searched the web and the Pelican tip said to place the trans in reverse then slide the coupler on the rod by going from first to reverse. Ok how do you tighten the pinch bolt? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Brian |

I just saw this thread, and agree with McMark. All three of th service manuals I have access to say to do the side shift adjustment in neutral. I just did it after an engine drop and linkage bushing replacement. The process was simple - with the transmission in neutral, adjust fore-aft position by making the lever vertical, then for side-to-side, hold the lever to the 4-5 side while twisting the shift rod in the tunnel access hole clockwise as seen sitting facing forward. The pinch bolt should be easy to tighten at that point.
