The split unit is great. Lots of work, really kicked my ass. Finally got back to normal. The car is in the shop. Pictures later. Just like always, moving is a bitch. Right now my tools are in 3 locations. There, here, or packed on the truck or trailer. I guess that makes 4...

I started this thread about August 27, '17, it took until March 03 '25 to reach 100K viewers, since then it has spiked radically to 151,647 today. @sirandy , these numbers are from this thread and I believe them to be accurate. But the spike is at a rate of about 12,500 a week. That's more visitors than the in a normal year. Andy, is the spike correct? Gosh it was nice having you and Amor sitting next to it at the '09 WCR
Coming soon pictures from the shop.
I'm gonna have to have a shot of 151 in celebration of the event.

@914 Ranch

Joe, we have been under attack (a DDoS attack to be precise) for several weeks now which unfortunately has inflated the viewer numbers on many threads.

The good news is that i managed to change the server configuration to deal with the attack without crashing the server.

But i'm afraid those thread view numbers aren't real.

Excuse me please, sorry for the lack of posts. The shop space got me what I needed for progress. Getting the last hose in was frustrating and bloody, lots of small cuts. Had to remove the oil tank to install the new hoses, twice before I got the sequence right. Now the tank needs the oil filter and breathe before filling. I have no idea how much oil it will take at this point, 16 quarts on hand, I would like to fill it tomorrow. I have a lot to show you now that I can post again I'll try to be better about it.

It's too big, will post it later.

After installing the last hose I was finally able to start filling the oil tank. Start looking for leaks. Got a bunch. Tighten up the connectors everywhere. Lots of oil, still have not started her. Need to do that just to get the level correct. Cleaned up to take the pics. Will check for leaks again tomorrow.

Hey Paul, it's good to hear from you. Me, cooking tomorrow, 6 racks of Baby Backs and a pork.loin. I have the Baby Backs down but I use a Meater on the loin out of caution. Even though it's a smoker I still need to pay attention to it. Dried out ribs suck. Lately I've been using scraps from the ribs to do Baby Back Mack. What a wonderful combination of flavors. Smokey chessie delicousness. At this time I have been trying to get front brake rotor as I have a pair of Brembo calipers that have been on the car before. Pulled them off because they over powered the rears.

Lightning strikes again. Just weighed my rear roters ( 8lb 8oz) as I am about to have them resurfaced. Want them to be .020 over minimun. As of yet I haven't looked up to see what minimun is. I am ordering a new set of front roters which I will have drilled and resurfaced to .020 over minimun. As radical this car is there is no point in missing this small detail. I'm not sure which is the most important, reciprocating mass or ungsprung mass. This helps both.

Thanks Scott, she is my continuum. When I get up every day I try to get something done for her. The other day I was finishing up the oil cooler hoses after an oil change. A couple of new connections and the new oil coolers would be ready for leak test. Man that test was a surprise. I found a conection that wasn't finger tight. What a mess. So in going forward I need to go over aĺl the connectors on the coolers. I'm happy with the installation though. Looks badass. I really like the red and blue colors everywhere.
Trying to move the works back home now. I've decided I need to have the shop at home. Like I needed another project.
So this was different, after the pressure test I turned off the engine but it just kept running. WTF! Turned off the fuel pump. Turned off all switches and then disconnected the ground at the battery still running. Today I wll be deep into the electrical system. It has never done anything like this before. I usually don't take my phone with me. Today it's going. Suns up I'm going to work.

The car is just setting in the trailer, and life keeps getting in the way. I spent the last week riveting the diffuser. Remember it was scrued together to be riveted later, well later finally arrived and I got most of it completed, there are a few holes that somehow seemed to grow so I have some 3/16" rverts on order. So I went over the hole diffuser and straightened up everything. Attempting to put it on, I struggled a little, getting it over the mufflars, and I looked in to put up on the front mounting pins, and it was already mounted. I pushed in the 4 top mounting buttons, and the diffuser was in place. Less than 2 minutes. I still need to adjust all the top pins. I literally takes longer to install the struts for the mufflers than putting the diffuser in place.

I have a very large distraction, a 20 x 30 addition to the shop. At this point we are grading and forming.

This is going to take forever...

Currently working on some electrical stuff in the engine bay. I just ordered a new Pelican box to replace the old one. Its starting to brake up. Over ten years old and lots of abuse. As the engine bay is all black you can't see shit and the old box is black so I ordered a yellow one with a clear lid. The reason I'm even in is that the last time I had the car running it didn't respond to the key being turned off. It shutdown by running out of fuel. I had shut off the fuel pump and disconnected the ground at the battery. I looked inside the box for something stupid I had last time I was in there. What I found was the regulator had puked up some sort of sticky goo. It all cleaned up with alcohol.

Attached Image

As soon as I cut the screws down I'll plug in the new regulator and try to get start up.

The fill piece.

I would like to cut the corner up to the elevation of the bottom of the trunk floor straight out to the wheel well. I feel that the air coming off the tire will flow better if there are less body parts in the way.
