Here's a deal 50 bucks for my Proven (rebuilt) 1.7 Distributor.Cap rotor, FI points, a set of plug wires, I'll put your Petronics in it for you. It has good points in it now. Time it probably have to adjust valves too. Plus pay my gas I'll deliver it AND GET YOUR CAR RUNNING.
Any other trouble shooting goes by the hour. I ain't cheap BTW. |

I had the exact problem with my 1.7 before I yanked it out. I drove the car to a local mechanic who found out it was my Fuel Injection Trigger Points located in the dizzy. I would have never guessed. Replaced the points and the car ran good again. Don't if someone else had mentioned yet, but it's my two cents. goodluck

okay here's what i believe my problem is. My harness connections (to the plastic connectors) have obviously seen better days. The trigger point connections (all 3) were trashed, some still connected by only one or two strands of copper. I quickly fixed them with a crimpable butt connector after trimming down some new replacement "ends". Also happened on one of the pins for the mps too. I believe that this wasnt the best way to attack my problem, so I think I'm going to either re-do those connections, get a bowlsby harness or both.......
