I'm not a big proponent of lawsuits, but since he tried to screw you with the cops, screw him back. Call your local one-call attorney and he'll send you to the right doctor!

I'm glad to hear you're ok Tom!
I totalled an old VW Golf shortly after buying it, but I was alone on the road. I hit a retaining wall head on at about 20mph after sliding on black ice. I bent the steering wheel pretty good and cracked the windshield, but no pain. I would've fixed the car because I liked it and had spent $$ on new upholstery. Unfortunately the impact buckled the roof.

I can second the Chiropractic suggestion, but warn that you may end up handling the bills out of pocket.

MrsPnambic was in a nasty accident a few years ago and suffered serious back injuries. She went through all the physical Therapy and meds and it was helping, but very slowly. On her doctor's suggestion, she visited a Chiropractor and viola! It worked!

The other guy's insurance refused to consider it a valid expense though. They said Chiroprators were all quacks and wouldn't cover the bills. Couple that with an idiot lawyer that couldn't tell his...grrr....getting mad thinking about it...

Basically, all that she was awarded for the pain and suffering went to pay the Chiropractor's bills, and he discounted it for us when he found out we were getting screwed. Nice doc. Just a bad situation.

Hope you come out better than we did.

Glad you walked away!! I wish you a speedy recovery.

I am so tired of hearing stories like these. There are way too many idiots on the road that get away with everything and anything. I'm constantly seeing people run lights and stop signs, stopping in the 2nd or 3rd lane of a highway to make an exit that's backed up, waiting till the last minute to change lanes for a turn, and TALKING ON CELL PHONES. It's time that people get their licenses pulled for more than too many speeding tickets. Yeah, I know speeding is breaking the law too, but it's stupidity that kills.

/rant

Peace

good morning Tom

how are you feeling today?

i didn't say it yeasterday, but i had been in a rear ender three years ago. the guy driving a roofing truck never hit the brakes while i was stopped at a traffic light, he hit doing about 40mph. i'm still not back to normal, still alot of daily pain.

so do your self a favor and keep on with seeing the doctor and get every test and picture now so they [the insurance companies] can't screw withyou later. this is happening to me to this day.

and turn your cars damage claim to your insurance, and get it fixed the way you want it fix. i tried to work with the other guys insurance to fix mine and they wouldn't let the body shop fix it correctly.

just some avise from some one who's been burned about as bad as you can from those antichrist POS insurance co.

good luck and rest up

Hey guys...

Just as an update, I'm feeling much better now. So, I guess I got lucky...

The car was totalled, I had someone buy it from me so I turned a little profit.

I just picked this little gem up yesterday....

(IMG:http://www.qtm.net/~persot/BMW/DCP01527%20(Small).JPG)

Sorry about the crummy pics, my 1 megapixel camera is on it's way out...

But, I digress... It's an 89 325is, just getting broke in at 175,000 miles. It's been religiously maintained and runs like a top. As long as I can keep the smoke in the wires, I'll be all set.

Came with a new set of Yokohama Icegaurd winter tires and a set of Avid H4's for summer use.

The 2.5 is in great shape and runs like a sewing machine. Seems to run a little rich under power and higher revs, so maybe the O2 sensor is on it's way out? Gotta look into that...

Pretty clean for 175K, eh?

Fun car... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Later,
Tom
