i'm getting the car ready for sundays event and i when i looked at my track-wheels i got the urge to make them look better ...
so i cleaned them up and repainted the center to match my street wheels.
if i don't score at the event, at least i'm going to go down in style ...

i wasted a perfectly normal friday afternoon polishing my track wheels.
is this the beginning of the end? should i seek professional help? is there any hope?

the old blue center ...

Just remember...if you accidently spray some WD40 on the paint you will have to sell the car. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

They look good.

Start to worry if you start searching the web for different sized Q-tips to detail the rest of the car. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif)

May I suggest some white touch-up paint on the side walls of the slicks to sharpen up the letters in GOOD/YEAR and EAGLE. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)

washing and waxing the race car at the track can be very demoralising (psych...) to some of the other teams. if you're polishing stuff, it must mean that ALL the other prep work on the car is DONE and you are ready to win.

i like a good-looking car, and i have been known to paint or polish something instead of doing something else that needed to be done, just for a break. just don't let YOURSELF get too deluded that everything's done and perfet if it's not yet...
