Ok so I'm replacing the throttle cable, when it comes out of the firewall, the previous owner has it routed up through a small hole on the right (passenger side) near the hell hole.

Can I assume that is correct?

thanks

Should be in a rubber grommet in the center of the right side sheet metal corner.

The stock grommet is in the right engine tin, basically centered in the square area adjacent the front and side engine shelf areas.

So the hole to the bottom left of the Coil?

The stock location works for factory efi but not so well for carbs.
Better to come up between the tin and engine shelf, and then maybe put a fresh hole in the tin once you see the most favorable routing.

Agree with Chris if you have carbs. Too many sharp turns with the route for FI.
You might want to consider his linkage too...

FWIW, I've always wanted to make a bell crank linkage that allowed the stock cable routing for carbs. Not that it matters.
