Didn't he send you something referencing the return policy on his website? And now he says it's a private party sale? I find that strange. He also said that you could return it, not sure under what conditions but I see that has changed too. I'm not going to buy from this guy. |

I do. I called the State of California when I bought my original RS flares. The guy never shipped them. I filled out the small claims forms and had him served. I drove to San B. (Yuciapa) and went to court. Asshole never showed so I won. What did I win? Nothing. I figured that out right then and there. I got my Palm Pilot out and looked up his address (I knew I had to be close). Drove up to his house and picked up my flares. (forgot to inform the proper athorities that I got my goods... I sure hope he doesn't get pulled over for a traffic violation anytime soon.) Kevin... I haven't been following this but I'm sure this community will pitch together and make it right for you and worse for Steve. Sounds like he got his graduate degree from the George (Hustler) Hussey Charm School. |

i just look up his web site. it looks like a ghost shop to me.
that machine shop way to big bucks for some one that wont even put a shipping or mailing address on the web site. at least raby admits his shop is at his house with no pretenses of being some high tech able to build anything full service shop. his is ruining his own name. every one spred this experience to others, all boards and fourms. |

Wow Steve, you prove beyond your own reputation.
Why put Kevin through the time, expense and hassle of "return the engine to me", when you fully intended to sluff him off. Sure Ron stepped in and got the engine shipped - but that did cost someone something. Now once the friggen thing is over a 1k miles away you pull this, "there's no warranty" garbage. So he is at the point of having to pay again to get it home, or have the hassle of having someone brokering your turd to recoup the some of the loss. Best wishes Type4, your going to need it if you intend to stay in your crooked profession. |

Ron was going to drive it to Scotts in COSTA MESA, after he footed the bill to have it shipped to Riverside. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif)
According to Mapquest, Costa Mesa to Costa Mesa = 0 miles! Kevin, I'm sending you a pm about a pm. |

Stromberg has been run off every list I've been on. He's a crook - no doubt about it. I never thought about buying from him... But after seeing his 2270 motors, it makes me scared to think that people actually buy them... Ouch. I know how much they cost to build. He's waaay under. Where's the cost cutting?
Oh, and those POS road-dune buggies are best. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ar15.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/icon8.gif) Tom |

No fuchin' way. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) You gotta be kiddin' me. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)
Let me get this straight: 1)first it was "there were no carbs or intake"; 2)then it was "I never said they were included in the deal"; 3)then came "I said I'll take the engine back and return your money"; 4)next we had "I'll return your money AFTER I inspect it"; 5)from there we went to "Riverside isn't Coocamunga"; 7)heading for home, we got "see the return policy on type4.com" 6)and finally we now have "private deal, screw you" Is that about right? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif) Gots ta tell, I deal with assholes and scumbags on a daily basis, and this is world record territory. I wouldn't buy a million dollars from this guy for $10. If there are people here who know this guy, and think there is anything redeemable about him, you should be leaning on him like a ton of bricks to square this train wreck up. I stayed out of this until now, because I accepted the representation of some who said "you don't know the whole story". But there is no set of facts that can make Stromberg not an indefensible scumbag here, unless he does a 180 in the next several minutes, or maybe if Kevin is actually Osama Bin Laden. Short of that, nothing can excuse his conduct. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) |

that's totally unacceptable. he has already stated that he'd take it back from you, and ron already went out of his way.... steve: it's probably too late to salvage your reputation on this board, but it's never too late to do the right thing. |

It's too bad that Ron couldn't sell the engine for what Kevin paid for it. OUCH! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) Shit, you could buy a whole car here for what he raped you for the engine alone. (Sorry Kevin. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) )
I though for sure that no one would buy from him again after his famous arguments with Miles. Looks like he still hasnt changed. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) |

ed, craig has the best looking set of 4 lug fuch wheels i have ever seen, da kine. contact him. chris, i see you read all 3 threads and gleened the subtle variations as we moved along. for what the engine was intially presented as, it would have been a killer deal. it's just the way it shook out. steve's out a bit more than i am in the long run. i still gots my rep. This is just too much. Im of the opinion that next time sombody farts and shit slips out it should be called a Stromberg. " Damn, I was at work today and I let a Stromberg slip by" How can somebody live their life, or make a living by cheating and lying?
